Studies have found that the primary reason for deaths and disability is our diet! Which is linked with over 11.3 million of deaths around the world. This study was conducted in 2017 and it include 188 countries in total. But have we ever stopped and wonder, what is the root of all this? That’s where plant-based plays an important role in our life’s, and the salvation has been in front of our eyes this whole time.

“The three dietary scores most consistently associated with lower mortality all included high consumption of fruit, vegetables, whole-grains, and legumes and lower consumption of red and processed meat. The review concluded that the diet patterns that are associated with lower risk of death from heart disease, cancer or any cause are “built on a common core of a diet rich in plant foods (whole grains, a variety of fruit and vegetables, nuts and legumes), which is supported by extensive scientific evidence” (Nutrition Studies. 2018. Conor Kerley, PhD).


There are places around the world that the majority of people live healthy, active lives until the age of 100 or more. These places are known from the name of “Blue Zones” and it includes places in America like Loma Linda, California. Some other places like in South America (Nicoya, Costa Rica), and Asia (Okinawa, Japan). The most concurrent characteristic that they all shared is a plant-based diet. As we know, nutrition is complicated, we look for consistency around the world, and by doing so, we have to keep in mind, that a good study is made of from great consistency and following a large group of people for a long period of time.
